I schedule appointments for patients as they walk into the clinic. Verify insurance, take payment from patient, and scan in records throughout the day. I perform faxing and scanning throughout the day for the providers. Make sure records and referrals are sent to other clinics and to the Emergency Room when necessary. Make sure the Electronic Medical Records system is up to date with their documents from the patients visit. I also help other front office staff with any questions they may have and walk them through different aspects of their job.
Oversee the day to day operations of the clinic, provide training for all staff, tracked and updated all financials within the clinic. I created two separate schedules for the back office and the front office. Took all calls at any time of the day when things needed done at the clinic. Kept all employee files current, kept all clinic certifications current. I did marketing for the clinic as well as dealing with disgruntled patients. Put together very extensive end of the month documentation that got sent to a lab and critiqued.
I monitored all of the patients in a post critical care unit through computer screens attached to electronic telemetry boxes which send up to the second readings of heart rhythms. I immediately respond to any changes and try to figure out any sort of condition that may be setting off a concerning rhythm. I take the change in patient status to the charge nurse and then to the physician for further evaluation.
