  • Managed up to 75 APTIM personnel on this EPA Region 8 arsenic- and lead-contaminated soil remediation cost reimbursable project
  • APTIM remediated 495 exterior and 210 interior properties for TO1 and is currently remediating 510 additional exterior and 465 interiors on TO2
  • The workforce is largely comprised of locals, providing significant job opportunities for the community

  • Romalia sought out multi-lingual employee candidates to facilitate communication with the impacted community, especially for the homes where interior cleanups were necessary
  • She reevaluated the crew makeup and tasks to create five start-to-finish crews rather than having separate crews for excavation, backfill, and restoration
  • This change greatly reduced the chances of utility strikes, quality issues, and punch list items
  • The production rate increased from five properties to ten properties per week
  • In March 2020, during the stay-at-home order for Colorado, Ms
  • Romalia led the COVID Response Start-up Plan to restart the project after a brief stop, making it one of the only Superfund projects able to accomplish a restart at the time

  • Managed 25 APTIM and subcontractor personnel to sample 99 residential properties for lead/arsenic soil contamination and perform soil removal and property restoration for 33 residential yards
  • The project team excavated and restored individual properties within 3 days and met face-to-face with property owners for them to provide input on restoration
  • The project was executed in a high-traffic residential area, and extra precautions were taken to ensure the safety of residents, resulting in project completion without an OSHA safety incident
  • The project received “Excellent” PPQ ratings for overall customer satisfaction and compliance with contract schedules.

  • Investigation, pilot testing and remediation of a 1.4 mile-long TCE plume using in situ enhanced bioremediation

  • Rapidly mobilized three drill rigs and personnel to install 4 monitoring and 76 injection wells for insitu enhanced bioremediation in a compressed timeframe
