Child Protective Investigations

Provided respectful, strength-based, and culturally competent case management and supportive services to children and their families. Safety, permanency, and well-being are the main focus to work and support the right of each child for a lasting, safe, and nurturing environment where he or she can develop secure attachments and a sense of belonging. Some families have children in foster care, some have children court-placed with relatives, and others have children at home under MCDHS supervision. It is crucial to have the skills to engage with parents/guardians to offer support in working with service providers and ensure court orders are being followed in an effort to have children safely returned to their homes. Duties also include supervising visitation in order to assess engagement between parents and children. Appropriate referrals to services requested and needed for parents and children including mental health, anger management, drug and alcohol, and domestic violence referrals are also completed and progress and support are provided when needed.
