I have grown up in awe of learning. Ever since I was a little girl I can remember spending entire days reading, begging my parents to get me more kindergarten homework, constantly working on hooked on phonics, playing with friends at my grandmas daycare by pretending to be their teacher, and asking my dad to go visit his classroom while he was teaching day in and day out. I have always wanted to be a teacher no matter when I actually realized that truth. I have always loved to learn in school and the teachers I had made this love so much stronger than it was before I began. I want to be a part of some child's inspiration to learn about the world and figure out what they love to explore.

  • Greeted customers warmly upon arrival and provided friendly and warm presence throughout dining experience. With common weekend wait times of over three hours, guests could get rather livid at us hosts, especially the head weekend host. As the head Saturday host during the holidays I received a lot of the heat and had the responsibility of managing the hectic front of the restaurant as well as an amount of the bar and the flow of the entire restaurant. It truly is a huge leadership and management role.
  • Worked with POS system to place orders, manage bills, and handle complimentary items.
  • Took reservations and to-go orders by phone, answered customer questions, and informed of accurate wait times.
  • Resolved customer complaints promptly and professionally to maintain positive reputation. As a steakhouse is on the higher end side, many guests tended to be very particular and headstrong about issues they experienced.

  • Monitored sales floor and merchandise displays for presentable condition, taking corrective action such as restocking or reorganizing products. Children like to touch displays so there was always something to correct.
  • Balanced and organized cash register by handling cash, counting change, and storing coupons.
  • Creating a personal connection with the guests was a very important part of the job. Children grow super fast which can make shopping for them stressful. Personal connections helped to manage stress and entertain/ calm down the child.
