  • Provides logistics assistance on a regional basis to supported units by investigating, coordinating, and recommending solutions to logistic problems and deficiencies affecting deployed weapon system(s).
  • Provides technical and procedural advice and equipment configuration /modification assistance to program managers, fellow LARs, and units, on current and newly fielded weapon systems.
  • Advises senior level commanders (post, camp, and station), fellow LARs, and unit personnel on the proper equipment operating procedures of supported systems, on the use of technical and supply publications, and on specialized test equipment, tools, and training equipment.
  • Provides, initiates, or recommends specific action(s) to senior level commanders on how to achieve and maintain weapon system readiness at or above the Department of Army materiel readiness goal (AR 700-138).
  • Researches unique situations and provides resolution to problems when the supported command has exhausted all means available to them. Solutions provided could lead to design changes or modification of the weapon system. Reviews command Individual Direct Support Supply (DSS) Activity Performance Report (IDAPR) and diagnoses and recommends corrective actions to include training to improve/sustain supply operations affecting the materiel readiness of supported systems.
  • Recognizes areas of maintenance and supply procedural inconsistencies causing readiness problems and resolves them by coordination, training, requesting resolution from higher levels via special reports, and/or by initiatives involving any combination of management, technical, and supply channels.
  • Evaluates/analyzes the adequacy of documentation to support fielded systems, such as, technical manuals, supply circulars, common tables of allowance, tables of distribution and allowances, essential repair parts stock list, associated support items of equipment and feeder data/basis of issue plan, etc. O Observes supported weapon systems equipment operation, testing, performance, and equipment condition to determine the maintenance or training required to maintain optimum readiness.
  • Performs Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties for support command agency contracts of new equipment fielded to the Warfighter to include PBL and CLS contracts which are still in acquisition development phase.
  • Serves as liaison between the supported unit, command(s), other MSCs, PEO, and AMCOM Enterprise elements to resolve maintenance, supply, and technical problems impacting the readiness of weapon systems.
  • Coordinates with other senior level logisticians (AMC, MSC, CORPS, Division, Brigade, etc.) in obtaining solutions to supply problems that impact the readiness of supported weapon systems. Provides guidance on new or revised policies, schedules and other changes in technical and supply programs to supported commanders and unit personnel.
  • Interprets and assists with the implementation of higher level directives (AMCOM Safety Messages, Maintenance Information Messages (MIM), disposition instructions) to include disposal of AMCOM equipment which has reached its end of life cycle. Conducts meetings for the purpose of working out agreements with respect to field support procedures.
