Possess at the minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Education with the willingness to agree to a study plan in Early Education at the graduate level from an accredited college or university; have a strong history of program design, supervision, collaborative partnerships and community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Early Education or related major, and, be grounded in community based work and sensitive to different cultural practices and beliefs and committed to the empowerment of underserved communities. Also, must possess a NYS SAC (New York State School-Age Care) credential. An ability to be creative, problem solve, work under pressure, being comfortable with programmatic outcomes, and engaging with all stakeholders is a must. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
General responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Regional Director, the Program Director shall be responsible for working with in the frame work of the sponsoring agency, carrying out the Council’s and DYCD funding policies and procedures, observing the schedules in the center and adhering to establish personnel policies.
Specific Duties:
The Program Director oversees the overall day-to-day operations of the Compass Program, and hiring of competent, qualified staff, and coordinating and supervising the work of staff in developing and maintains a program in education, health, nutrition and social service to meet the needs of the children served.
Must develop and maintain good staff relationships, time and work schedules and individual and group conferences.
Duties also include maintaining financial records, keeping expenditures within budgetary limitation, seeing sanitary conditions are maintained and plant is kept in good repair so that proper protection of children is assured.

Summer Camp Responsibilities
Specific Duties:
Develop, implement and manage camp program schedule to ensure effective presentation
Supervise the daily schedule of camp program activities and camp staff to ensure camps maximum participation in activity
