Kody Uyemura-Iga

As a recent high school graduate currently working at Starbucks, I’m eager to take the next step toward a hands-on, meaningful career in the electrical trade.

Growing up, I was inspired by my father, who worked as a lineman and often spoke highly of the opportunities and lifelong skills that come with union work. My high school teacher also encouraged me to apply to the apprenticeship program, recognizing my strengths in problem-solving and working with my hands. These experiences solidified my decision to pursue a trade career—one that I can commit to and grow with for life.

I’m a hard-working and reliable individual who takes pride in putting in consistent effort every day. I go to the gym every morning and stay active through paddling, which helps me stay focused, disciplined, and physically fit—qualities I know are important for this line of work. I enjoy learning everything that I can, and I love challenges.
