Duties include covering quarterly board meetings and writing stories to go in the newsletter, writing stories on other activities of the Association, and taking photographs to go in the newsletter. Also in charge of layout and design, editing, coordinating contributed articles and letters, and working with the editorial board of the newsletter on issues.

• Write for the Lewisville Leader, a twice-weekly newspaper; The Colony Courier-Leader, the Coppell Gazette and the Little Elm Journal, all weekly newspapers. Duties included covering city government and police in The Colony, covering the county commissioners, court and business news for Denton County, as well as writing features for all newspapers. Also covered stories as needed for any of the newspapers.

• Duties included covering Monroe City Council and Walton County Board of Education meetings, as well as other hard news and feature stories. Also in charge of paginating an average of five to 10 pages of the community section of the newspaper, which included layout and design, sizing photographs, writing headlines and editing copy. Fielded most incoming calls about articles and photographs submitted to the newspaper, including complaints and concerns. Operated the scanner station used to enter copy into the newspaper. Assisted editor with proofreading, page paste up and cutting photographs for the newspaper. Took own photographs to accompany stories.

Also, covered a variety of other hard news and feature stories. Assisted editor in layout and proofreading, which included pasting paginated pages and final proofreading.
