  • Serve as College’s primary certifying official; certifying over 500 veterans, veterans’ dependents and active duty members for VA education benefits, bringing in nearly $1,000,000.00 in GI Bill monies annually to the college
  • Provide information and guidance to new, transfer, and returning students on registration procedures related to the Veterans Administration (VA) and the college; assist students with completing VA application and review for completeness and correctness
  • Interpret and explain rules and regulations of the Veterans Administration, State Approving Agency and College policies and procedures. Prepare for and participate in annual federal and state compliance procedures and surveys. Submit annual School Catalog for approval through SSA and Veterans Administration. Collect, interpret, compile, and verify data in the preparation of a wide range of routine and specialized forms and reports relating to Veterans affairs
  • Project manager for annual Veterans & Community Job Fair, with over 60 employers, 20 veteran service providers and over 400 job seekers attending
  • Manage two one-stop Veterans Centers, as well as supervise two Administrative Assistants and VA Work Study students
  • Directed first full Program Review of Veterans Services, resulting in funding for a new part-time employee and establishing guidelines for successfully creating and maintaining a one-stop Veterans Center
  • Grant manager of $50,000.00 Veterans SAVE fund, $10,000.00 Strengthening Families Grant, and $5,000.00 Operation Money Wise Grant
  • Perform a variety of managerial and administrative tasks including operating two Veterans Centers, researching best practices, writing reports, assisting with maintenance of the Veteran Services budget(s), maintaining up-to-date resources for students, maintaining accurate records and files
  • Developed fundraising initiatives to help support the Veterans Center with funds outside of the annual budget

  • Submit quarterly and annual reports relative to the goals and performance of Veterans Services
  • Perform detailed review of student records and progress throughout each semester to ensure student veterans are on track academically; follow up and perform outreach to students, increasing retention rate among student Veterans to 88%
  • Promote College's Veterans Services and local/national veterans news using Facebook and Twitter
  • Plan Veterans Day events, including appreciation luncheon and outreach events throughout the community
  • Establish and maintain relationships with federal, state and local Veterans agencies
