Coming from a military family with a special needs son [my brother has down syndrome] and I have moved various states and areas. I have volunteered with my brother in many situations, for example I have been a part of his occupational, speech, hippo, and physical therapies. My family was a part of a community of volunteers in Arkansas by the name of "Buddy Talk" which provided support, resources, and fundraiser opportunities for families. I was always in direct reach for him through school and would often be asked for support by teachers when needed.
