This is my current job that I got at the age of 17, I was again quickly promoted from cashier and trusted with many new responsibility's, I had to continue and maintain strict compliance with money service laws as well as leading the front end of the store in a lower level managerial capacity. I was also trusted with the closure of the cash office which entailed accounting all daily money services as well as daily accounting for the store as a whole, preparing received cash from the bank and preparing deposits, and counting and maintaining the store safe. I have worked this job through all of college and it has helped to see some of the accounting practices I learn in college course in a real world sense as I do many of them while working in the cash office. I am using this job as a finance internship through my college as well which is helping me gain more academic credits.
My second job which I got at the age of 16 and was quickly promoted from cashier to customer service representative. This job taught me strong responsibility and legal compliance due to the strict laws that came with money services that I would have to process and abide by throughout the day while processing money services transactions such as: western union money transfer, the printing of money orders, and cashing of checks. I was also taught the basics of management as I had to coordinate the front end staff as well as completing basic accounting tasks at the end of the night. Another responsibility that I had taken on was the training of new staff where I learned how to build upon an individuals strengths to make them a better employee.
This is my first job that I got at the age of 14, it taught me how to properly handle money in a fast paced working environment while also dealing with fast changes and unknown challenges in the working environment due to my age and the panic toward COVID-19.
