I advanced to the role of Legal Support Specialist, gaining proficiency in assisting prosecuting attorneys. I began this position in the Charging/Grand Jury Bureau where I gained a vast knowledge of procedures for filing criminal cases in the Superior Court. I also Worked closely with an extradition attorney, drafting motions and expanding my understanding of the extradition process.
I eventually transferred to a trial bureau and utilized my expertise in criminal case filing and enhanced my understanding of preparing and filing motions for cases proceeding to trial.
I promoted to Legal Support Supervisor, overseeing a team of four to six staff members. I provided daily supervision and training to staff. I ensured that all essentials tasks were completed accurately and timely. I also supported two Bureau Chiefs.
I later took a demotion back to Legal Support Specialist and assigned to a trial bureau again where all of the knowledge I gained over my years of service has made me a valuable asset, not only to my bureau, but to the division as a whole. I have been called upon to train new staff. I am often sought out for guidance by division staff seeking procedural assistance.
