At 17 years old, I started my first job as a hostess in January 2025 and later cross-trained in multiple positions, including server, barista, and busser. I left in July 2026 after moving to Kona. I chose to be a hostess for my first job because I am social and energetic, so I knew I would be a perfect fit. Once management saw my strong work ethic and the genuine connections I built with customers, I was quickly promoted to Lead Hostess and, shortly after, given a $3 raise and access to tips. I built relationships with many coworkers and customers, which, in my opinion, are equally important. I was in charge of some coworkers, so as a leader, I assured them I was trustworthy, communicative, and professional.
Along with my coworkers, I strove to build relationships with customers because my job was at a family-owned fine-dining Italian restaurant; my customer service needed to match the quality of the food. I truly enjoyed talking with and meeting many people and ensuring that they would love the customer service as much as the food. Before being a leader in my profession, I was also a leader in school. I was Vice President of Spanish Honor Society and DECA (business club) and was also involved in other organizations, including National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and my Theatre Troupe. I have a long history of experience in team and highly demanding environments, which makes me a perfect fit for your team.
