Job Details

Summary

The position is primarily responsible for obtaining patient demographics while creating the patients account. Pre-admits utilizing phone calls and physicians' offices. Answers switchboard and directs ambulance calls to the appropriate area/extension. Works independently with all departments in the hospital.

Requirements:

High School diploma, or equivalent. Post-secondary preferred.

Prior customer service skills necessary.

One year in a healthcare setting preferred; insurance knowledge, computer skills, switchboard, or multi-phone system skills preferred.

Other Skills Required

Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.

Ability to work independently.

Adaptable to changing workflow and environment.

Willing to learn and a focus for continuous self-improvement

Collaborative team player.

Customer service oriented. Strong telephone aptitude.

Physical Requirements

Repetitive motion daily; some pulling; some lifting up to 15 pounds. A lot of walking throughout the day.

Must be able to handle extremely stressful situations professionally, and able to handle multi-tasks in an organized manner. Hand/eye coordination.

Working Environment

Close working conditions; exposure to blood/and or body fluids possible.
