Personal Experience

  • I have cared for elderly patients in my home. A 92 year old lad moved into my home after her husband passed. She was a delight and we had great communications. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer after a year with us and she passed away in three months, I cared for her twenty four hours. Her doctor recommended Hospice about two weeks before she passed. I truly enjoyed caring for her. My duties were meals, bathing, dressing and transportation. Watching Jeopardy with her and amazed at her brilliant mind!
  • I cared for my husband for over seven months who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma., His last several months he was totally bedbound. He was not able to even get up to toilet. He did attempt a trial treatment but it was a placebo! When he went to the James he had to go by ambulance on a gurney. Needless to say I loved my husband immensely and would have done anything for his care needs.
  • I cared for my Grandfather in my home who had Dementia for over eighteen months. His care became too great when he was wandering and his activities were no longer sage for himself or for me. I had to place him in a Memory care unit.
  • I cared for my mother in law in my home for over two years. She had advanced CHF and was not able to do most of her ADLS. I


As you can see I officially never worked for an agency but I certainly have experience of being a caregiver.  I know it can be difficult at times and I do my best to work through these times.  I know the elderly are agitated at times as they have lost some of their independence.   I recognize this along with other concerns they have,.  

Additional Information

I am a compassionate individual who listens well to seniors. I care tremendously for them, In my past I also sold Diabetic footwear and visited seniors in their homes.

I received many referrals from Senior Options and The Area Agency on Aging. I am confident your seniors will be complimentary of me and my caring for them.
