- Responsible for the control and daily management of the Federal Court's Petit and Grand Jury system including analyzing system and making recommendations for improvement to the Clerk.
- Creates the Court's jury wheel lists, qualify jurors, summons jurors and process daily paperwork that includes letters to be postponed or excused.
- Determines the budget needed and works with appropriate personnel to rebuild the Court's jury wheel.
- Coordinates jury needs with Court staff and delivers orientation to jurors comin in for trials.
- Processes vouchers for juror and vendor payments, including jury fees, parking and food.
- Prepares monthly statistical reports analyzing data of trials and Grand Jury sessions.
- Supervises and trains the work of a jury clerk, yearly student interns and occasional temporary employee.
- Continuously reviews statutory requirements and other applicable legal and policy guidelines.
- Communicates and serves as liaison between other Federal agencies including: US Attorney's Office, U.S. Marshal's Service, Citizenship & Immigration Services, and the U.S. Postal Service.
- Coordinates all aspects of eleven Naturalization ceremonies per year, including securing dates, judges, color guards, soloists and speakers.
- Processes name change petitions for citizens seeking new names.
- Applies for and oversees CLE programs for court law clerks. Submits necessary payment to the State Bar.
- Serves as liaison with the Federal Judicial Center to determine what educational programs, services resources are available to assist with training needs.
