Work History

Branch Manager / Commercial Loan Officer

Bank of the Plains
Lakin, KS
06.2023 - Current
  • Create branch budgets every year for loan and deposit volumes, as well as all interest and non-interest income and expenses. I actively monitor and manage my branch's budget and spending to ensure we are meeting our growth goals.
  • Manage and oversee a team that consists of personal bankers, loan assistants, and a bookkeeper for the bank. I am currently acting as the Loan Officer for two of our branches while we search for a Loan Officer for our Liberal branch.
  • Converse with new and existing customers to determine which product packages we offer that fit their needs the best for their deposits. This includes special checking accounts, IRAs, money markets, CDs, etc.
  • Managing a $15MM - $18MM loan portfolio for my branch that consists of agricultural, commercial, and consumer loans.
  • In 2024, I financed a $2MM construction project that will be termed out with our bank and will include a $1MM operating line of credit for a growing business.
  • Have a seat on our Liquidity and Funding Committee, where we discuss deposit activity, competition and vote on how we price our deposit products.

MARKET DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

AG BITECH
02.2022 - Current
  • Developed a market for baculovirus insecticide throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, working with distribution, retailers, and growers.
  • Created rebate programs for my territory that would incentivize distributors and retailers to purchase our products pre-season, so we could plan on production and manage our cash flow.
  • Worked with our marketing department to target advertising in my territory using Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and radio.
  • Frequently attended trade shows to enhance our exposure and build on relationships with our current customers.
  • I managed our inventory with all of our distributors and warehouses to ensure our product stayed viable, and was being stored appropriately.
  • I answered agronomic questions regarding our products and addressed complaints to ensure our end users could confidently use our product and know it would work if applied correctly.
  • Assisted with the transition as Ag-Bitech sold the United States' sales and distribution rights for their products to UPL.

AGRONOMY SALES

PRIDE AG
11.2019 - 02.2022
  • Navigated through several different manufacturers' rebates, discounts, and financing options to differentiate myself from the competition, get the sale, and ensure my customer had access to any and all offers available.
  • Customized agronomy input plans based on the grower's needs. This often included making extensive spreadsheets, running every input plan, so the grower could compare costs per acre, total ROI, rebates, financing, and manufacturer backing on different programs.
  • I helped my customers and prospects determine which seed varieties and hybrids to plant each year using data and personal experience. We sold Brevant, NK, and Croplan seeds. Each of the brands we carried had their own pricing structure, financing options, and performance variances.
  • I was selling about $5 million per year in inputs and had brought in $1.3 million in prepay dollars for the 2022 growing season before leaving in February 2022. My pre-season sales and prepay dollars allowed Pride Ag to borrow less money on their operating note, and take advantage of discounts by purchasing inventory early.

AGRONOMY SALES MANAGER

HEFTY SEED COMPANY
01.2019 - 11.2019
  • I led retail sales across the state of Kansas for fertilizer, chemicals, and Hefty-branded products.
  • I managed and assisted the sales staff in our company's growth goals.
  • Coordinated grower meetings and co-branded meetings with Crop Quest and other companies that shared a mutual interest.
  • Managed all test plots in our entire territory. I ensured the data was accurate, honest, and advertised.
  • Worked with customers on pricing, discounts, and financing programs that were offered through Hefty, JD Financial, Rabo, Corteva, etc.

BRANCH MANAGER

PRIDE AG
06.2015 - 02.2018
  • Managed three full-time employees and additional harvest employees.
  • I managed the Beeler location, which consisted of a grain elevator, service station, bulk feed and animal nutrition, anhydrous plant, and retail business for the Beeler, KS, location.
  • I managed all of our branch inventory, placed orders, and helped determine pricing for our products and services.
  • Helped customers with selling their grain, and determining market trends.
