  • Provides substitute emergency and non-emergency dispatching support to field crew personnel; assures public notification of hazardous conditions by posting and submitting supplemental Domestic Wastewater reports.
  • Responsible for training dispatchers in basic and advanced dispatch techniques used to dispatch emergency and non-emergency personnel, revised operational procedures, standardized departmental rules, and regulatory agency notifications.
  • Acts as the Lead Worker while monitoring daily workflow of all three shifts to assure quality assurance and standard operating procedures are followed. Responds to other WASD sections to correct daily workflow errors.

  • Responsible for coordinating and attending meetings with Executive Management, Shift Supervisors and other Administrative Personnel.
  • Assists in maintaining contact with upper management, investigative units, and the Office of Emergency Management during emergency activation.
  • Compiles information for reports concerning the results of inspections and submits findings to supervisors and other departmental personnel.
  • Enforces departmental rules, regulations, procedures, and agreements with respect to spill notification, on-call repair crews, towing and other repair services.
  • Assists in retrieving audio data from voice recording system in response to requests for information and to support training and quality control programs.
  • Organizes and adjusts various dispatch assignments section wide to incorporate special equipment; analyzes and recommends improvements in dispatch procedures and processes, assignments, and radio and data terminal usage.
  • Makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, and promotion of subordinates; authorizes leave and overtime; evaluates and rates employee performance.
  • Assists with Job Analysis review, Section Recruitments, Developing and recommends teaching aids and materials for on-site instruction of employees.
