I am still married to my board certified veterinary surgeon husband of 34 years.
Had the luxury of working in practices that had a clientele willing and able to work up patients with extensive lab work, imaging, surgical biopsies, cytology's,,etc. This gave me a wealth of experience in many aspect of veterinary medicine.
This was a clientele demanding extensive client communication and education.
I had a very good rapport with my clients and co workers as well as enjoying the individual animal
patients.
I maintained an enthusiasm to stay current in my knowledge of veterinary medicine and never tired of working..
I have relocated from New York to Florida after working through the pandemic.
I have taken some time to organize my new home and pursue lifelong hobbies including tennis, yoga, gardening, kayaking and cooking..
Participated in continuing education opportunities to stay current on advancements within the veterinary field. Attended a national meeting yearly as well as local CE events. Had Radiology reading meetings locally. Had several courses with Sound technologies to advance my knowledge and skill of abdominal ultrasound.
Practiced evidence based Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis on wellness and preventive care. Had a large geriatric clientele,
I performed many surgeries including emergency as well as scheduled procedures. Dental prophylaxis and tooth extractions with oral radiographs as well.
Had many discussions involving nutrition, exercise, training and preventive medicine with all new clients. Educating a client was of utmost importance to the success of raising a healthy pet that could live a long life.
Established many important relationships with clients and co-workers offering house calls and many at home euthanasias, when requested .
I'm a pet parent and understand completely how important the human animal companion bond can be.
I worked in a large multi-vet practice with 6 or more Veterinarians. We often called in Veterinary specialists for orthopedic surgeries and cardiology echos.
Had many good relationships with veterinary technicians who were indispensable to the practice of diagnosing and treating routine medical, chronic, and emergency cases.
Our practice often attracted veterinary volunteers. I took them under my wing offering knowledge and invaluable experience during their road to becoming a veterinarian. Many students spent school holidays and entire
summers volunteering and helping with vaccinations, treatments, client relations.
Our practice had relationships with several rescue groups offering a discount for services.
Always with an effort to find forever homes for these animals..
