Oversees the activities of the Plant Operations/Maintenance in both RBMC /OBMC campuses.
Respond to facility emergencies during off hours.
Recommends and implements policies and procedures to improve the Medical Center's physical plant, customer service and equipment.
Consults, cooperates and adheres with inspection/regulatory agencies (local building, etc.) assuring
conformance with all applicable regulations, standards, etc.
Develops organizational plans to carry out activities of services within JCAHO and State Department of Health standards.

Communicates clearly with all Departments requesting services.
Recommends policy and procedure changes in conjunction with short- and long-range plans, problems,
systems, and goals including planning for new facilities, utilities management, etc.
Develops justifiable annual or other periodic budgets taking into account historical data and projected
needs within prescribed time frame. Monitors expenses, modifies operational expenditures where
appropriate and presents clearly documented variance reports as necessary. Manages department
expenses (salary and non-salary) in accordance with the approved annual budgets.
Submits variance justifications and other statistical reports as requested.
Ensures that all operating areas and personnel are in keeping with regulatory agency requirements and
RBMC policies and procedures including, but not limited to: New employee orientation; Equipment and
Compliance; Accident/Incident Report; OSHA Regulations; and Annual Safety/Emergency Preparedness
Training.
Lead and direct employees. Provide feedback and training to staff. Works with staff to resolve issues
that may arise. Ensures the effective and efficient utilization of human resources.
Participate in Union contract renewal negotiations.
Provides for continuing education and development of subordinate staff through formal or informal
training, in-service and other programs with documentation of plans, results and mutual feedback.
Develop and continually ensures that a planned, systematic and on-going process for monitoring,
evaluating and improving departmental operations and systems and services is addressed through
appropriate documentation and communication.
Submits monthly TQM report for Safety Committee and Administrative Quality Management
Committee review.
Meets regulatory compliance of the JCAHO and SDOH for Plant Operations/Maintenance as
evidenced by no major citations.
Informs employees at all levels, of matters affecting their work at regularly scheduled meetings.
Initiates personnel actions such as salary, promotions, transfers, discipline, terminations, etc.
according to Hospital and Department policy.
Delegates assignments to professional staff members and supervises their work as needed to ensure
quality results.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
