when you work in a unit that has to be under hazmat rules and regulations there’s a lot of tease that have to be crossed and a lot of eyes that have to be dotted, especially when it comes to OSHA inspection. OSHA is very strict with their inspections. when it comes to the operation department, there’s a lot of training information that has to be met in a certain timeframe and all this has to be recorded to meet usher’s regulations. On the production side of our department we have to prove that we can operate the unit which we had to and NH three plant and a methanol plant and maintain them properly from an environmental standpoint with all proper documentation and properly reported documentation to meet OSHA-guidelines. Socher visited our site in 2018 with a crew of people going through all of our departmental documents, maintenance, front office, environmental department, engineering, department, operation department, maintenance department, HR department. So you can imagine with all of these departments and each department had to go through an evaluation and satisfy OSHA inspection process. It’s a level of scrutiny that’s hard to imagine. when the evaluation process is finished by OSHA, they have a closing meeting with all department heads. In the meeting, the director of the group said this was a first for OSHA and they reported their OCI passed all evaluations in every department with minor infractions, which gave the company a VPP certification evaluation on the 1st evaluation process for that year. They commended us on our accomplishment and said this was the first time in history of OSHA that this had been accomplished by anyone or any company. They made it clear to Ernest that they usually have to do two follow ups with a company in order to get their certifications VPP certified, but we finished it in one inspection process.. the one thing they were most impressed with is our lab for the plant was not explosion proof and on the last day of their inspection process we had a 40 foot Connex building that had an explosion proof rating to satisfy their specifications. It was delivered 6 PM on our site and it was plumbed powered and we were running samples that out before 8 o’clock the next morning.. 😊. Now I don’t take any personal gratitude for this accomplishment, but it was still something that all parties had to work together to get this done in this short period of time and OSHA left the facility, scratching her heads how we did it. So from a perspective of my department, which was the operation department. This was my greatest accomplishment., however, it was a group effort, and none of it could’ve happened unless we all work together.
