Summary

I have 35 years of experience with Cummins Engine Company.

After graduating from Vo-Tech, I immediately hired on with Cummins in Gillette Wyoming and worked as a Diesel Mechanic for multiple years after this working on most engine platforms from the B series through the K2000 series and pretty much everything in between working my way in to the status of Journeyman Mechanic which is no longer a designation anymore, but typically it meant that you were a very experienced and knowledgeable mechanic.

In the mid 90’s I suffered a degenerative bone issue in a knee which made continuing on as a mechanic all but impossible without a knee replacement at the age of 32.

I applied for and was moved to the parts department where I learned the systems from the old AS400 computers forward and learned the parts processes of that time until now.

I became department manager in 2009 and have been in that position since that timing while having a department that ranged from four to ten employee’s on rotating shifts at one time.

I started for Cummins at the age of 25 and I am now 60 years old and I have seen every single bit of the growth and changes within Cummins during that timing. I now have a need and a desire at this time in my life to move to a location that my wife and I have been working on for many years in a different state, but to do this, always meant leaving Cummins to find another job as there is no Cummins facility in that area, or just retiring sooner than I wished to do so, before the advent of this kind of remote position.

I plan to work for another five to seven years at this time, but I would like to stay with Cummins if at all possible and this seems like a good way to do this in which I may be able to offer an extreme amount of help in some situations.

I am very knowledgeable on High Horsepower Engines which is something many area’s don’t even see, while we also see all other over the road business including ISX to Onan inclusive and many of the old NH, and small Vee engines that many have never even seen, much less looked for parts for.

I would love to give one of these position’s a try for the next five to seven years and finish my career with Cummins Engine Company.
