This narrative should be in the #4 position, but because of the date range it landed in #3. Along with the positions previously noted I maintained a position in the Mississippi National Guard. I joined the National Guard in Leavenworth, KS, on Dec 4, 1963. Attended basic training and advanced infantry training at Ft Jackson, SC, from April, 1964 thru September 1964. I transferred to Mississippi NG mid 1965. Attended OCS 1967. I was commissioned 2LT August 1967, and was assigned to the 2nd Platoon, Co B, 890th Engineer Bn (MSARNG) Gulfport, MS, as Platoon Leader. Transferred to Hq and Hq Detachment, Camp Shelby, MS, in 1970. The unit designation was changed to Installation Support Unit (ISU) , Camp Shelby, in 1973 or 1974. I held several positions in the ISU, to include, Billeting Officer (2LT-CPT), Supply and Service Officer (MAJ), Director of Personnel and Community Activities (LTC) and Executive Officer (LTC). I retired from the Mississippi National guard in August 1995 and retired from my full time job with the National Guard' Camp Shelby on April 1, 1996.
