Mazzy Carroll

As an Entomology Assistant, I work to assist the WWC community with research and data collection on ongoing insect-related projects and participate in developing new projects. Examples of work include assisting in the collection and identification of parasitic wasps, maintaining the campus bee hotel, assisting with arthropod research and curation, and maintenance of the on-campus arthropod collection. I also work to communicate helpful information about insects through zines, art, videos, and presentations.

Participate in a collective of teen artists that design and implement public art that addresses a need in the community.

• Participated in trainings for art therapy and community art installation.
• Collaborated with 20 artists on 'zine production regarding mental health in 2021.
• Collaborated with 20 artists on mural design in 2022.

• Trained as a teen mentor with skill building in leadership, building connections and project management
• Mentorship of pre-teen mentee in craft and fundraising project with proceeds of project going to Austin Bat Refuge
