Upper bay technician (UBT), Customer Service associate (CSA), lower bay technician (LBT)

Jiffy Lube
09.2012 - 08.2013
  • As the Customer Service associate (CSA) I would take the customer to the computer and show them as well as explain all the oils we had, also told them about all the other things we offer such as air filters, fuel filters, lights, coolant/antifreeze, coolant/antifreeze flush, transmission flush, and tire rotation. I would also show them their filters/valves so they could see for themselves if they wanted to replace them. I would then fill out the work order needed for whatever service they wanted. After the work was completed, I would then grab the customer again and check out with cash or card.
  • As an upper bay technician (UBT) I would first open the hood, take out the PCV valve, if applicable, air filter, and cabin air filter, also if applicable and give it to the CSA. I would then go over the work order and read out the correct filters the lower bay technician will need for their job and let them know the other services we are going to be completing. Also using that work order I would go get all the necessary items I will need to finish my job, after I would communicate with the lower bay technician to see if the vehicle was ready for new oil and check to start etc. and check all other fluids in the vehicle, after starting and having no leaks that the vehicle didn’t come in with, I would make sure everything was tight how it was supposed to be and make sure there is nothing left behind, shut the hood securely. If they had a tire rotation, I would be the one performing that after everything was completed in the bay.
  • As the lower bay technician (LBT), I would wait till I got all clear from the UBT of what we were going to do, using standard hand tools I would remove the drain plug and filter for oil change. After getting verification from the UBT for the correct filter I would put both the plug and filter on the vehicle tight. As the LBT I would be completing all the other work such as fuel filters, coolant flush, transmission flush, differential fluid exchanges, transfer case fluid exchanges, or just topping off the fluids of those. I would grease all fittings if applicable and stay in communication with UBT. After checking nothing leaks and everything is tight, I would close the bay and go to a different car or clean.
  • Oversaw installation and maintenance of upper bay systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Led troubleshooting efforts for equipment malfunctions, reducing downtime through effective problem-solving strategies.
  • Implemented process improvements that increased operational efficiency and reduced service response times.
  • Managed inventory control for tools and parts, ensuring availability for ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrated versatility within the role by mastering various systems such as electrical components or suspension parts in addition to general maintenance tasks like oil changes or tire rotations.
  • Streamlined work processes with proper documentation of repairs, parts inventory, and customer information.
  • Delivered high-quality results under tight deadlines by prioritizing tasks effectively while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Achieved cost savings for customers by recommending appropriate repair solutions based on their unique needs and budget constraints.
  • Improved vehicle maintenance efficiency by conducting thorough inspections and diagnosing issues accurately.
  • Promoted environmental sustainability by properly disposing of hazardous materials used during repairs and recycling parts whenever possible.
  • Enhanced customer satisfaction by providing timely and professional repair services on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Supported overall shop operations, including ordering supplies, managing inventory levels, scheduling appointments, and handling customer inquiries as necessary.
  • Optimized tool usage, maintaining organized workspaces for easy access and minimal disruptions during repairs.
  • Maximized workshop productivity, implementing best practices in diagnostic techniques and repair methods.
