Advocacy
Lead focus groups with two other students at the University of Houston that were then presented to the Harris Country DA. Attended and some at a press conference as well as many interviews that followed. Untimely, we were able to gain support from 7 universities along with over $165,000 for Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners. This will allow for women to have more choices as the money will be used for a number of tasks, but primarily making qualified sexual assault nurse examiners available on demand at seven different Houston area universities. The organization will also hire and train forensic interviewers. They'll provide seminars on preventing sexual assault, support a hotline and bring other resources to victims of sexual assault.
