Alternate between Police, Fire/EMS and Engineer radios with my partner during my shift. Answer our emergency and non-emergency phone lines in the proper order and amount of time, being courteous and professional. Interrogate the caller; internally and externally to obtain the necessary information to dispatch the proper agency. Contact a wide variety of law enforcement agencies, government agencies, contractors, wreckers, etc. Assist fellow employees with any questions pertaining to our job to include policy and procedures, dispatching Police, Fire, EMS and/or Engineers along with anything else that may arise. I monitor, control, operate and acknowledge the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, various records management systems, radios and station alerting systems all at the same time. operate the National Crime Information Center and Virginia Criminal Information Center to obtain necessary information for officers such as driving records, criminal history records, daily driving statuses and vehicle information daily along with maintaining the security of the information by ensuring only authorized personnel obtain the information that I receive. Maintain and monitor our Milestone camera system that serves the entire base for employee safety. Maintain my certifications for VCIN/NCIC, EMD and CPR along with internal training certificates through LRM. I maintain a positive attitude and try to promote that with my fellow employees and anyone else I encounter either in person or on the phone. I created training guides, updated my internal phone listing and updated the police lineup. I was the tester for FEMA and EMD online courses.
