With a solid foundation in healthcare counseling developed during my tenure at Duke, I've cultivated a deep understanding of the intricate balance between health, wellness, and emotional well-being, profoundly influenced by diverse cultural perspectives and individual experiences. Following my departure from Duke in 2006 and relocation to Wisconsin, I chose to prioritize caring for my four children, which accounts for my employment gap. During this period, I actively engaged with my community by volunteering extensively in schools, particularly focusing on supporting students facing cognitive disabilities and social-emotional challenges.Recognizing the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), I am dedicated to fostering inclusive environments where every individual feels valued and supported. My experiences have reinforced my commitment to advocating for equitable access to healthcare, education, and community resources, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and represented in decision-making processes.
