Work History

Team Lead

Parkesdale
01.2022 - Current

I started the first week of the busiest season for this position as a seasonal produce worker. My main responsibility in the beginning was making sure all produce available in the store was consistently graded, rotated, and stocked, making sure that cashiers always have stacks of flats of strawberries, unloading the produce truck that comes in every day, doing all customer carry outs, sorting and cleaning the produce cooler everyday, and collecting and throwing away all trash. Within my first season, I became a trainer and was kept on for the summer. Since then I have become the Team Lead of the front end which comes with the responsibility of keeping inventory for all produce, I make and accept orders from local farmers, I count registers and do paperwork for the cash flow, keep other workers on track and in the flow of where they are needed, handle complaints or returns, create weekly assignments for cashier duties. I help out anywhere needed in the store, whether thats putting out a plant order in the garden, helping gift fruit package shipments, jumping on a register, or getting stock out on the floor. Im the only key holder with the responsibility of opening and closing down the store when the owners are away, and as such it's my responsibility to make sure every door is unlocked, every gate is open, all the lights and fans are on, music is on and the store is open on time.

Cashier

Winn Dixie Grocery Store
04.2021 - 01.2022

As a cashier, my biggest responsibility was customer service. I was able to learn the whole register system in place within 1 shift, to the point they moved me into the liquor store to fill in when needed after my first week. In-between customers I did everything within reach to stay busy, such as fronting all the products, checking expiration dates, dusting and sweeping, putting out any inventory for the registers when shipments came in. I became the opening cashier, so it was my responsibility to get to the store at 6am to clean the breakroom, clean the fridge and make sure all supplies are stocked, wipe down and clean all 20 registers, get the cash drawers in, overall just getting the front end of the store to open at 7am.

Designated Hitter

Walgreens
11.2015 - 01.2020

As a Designated Hitter for Walgreens I worked both the main store and the pharmacy. Anytime the
pharmacy team needed help I would be called in to assist. Whether that was helping patients out with their prescriptions, typing and filling prescriptions when they come in from the doctors, dealing with insurances and phonecalls, whatever was needed at
the time, I helped. Otherwise I was helping customers on the floor, scanning inventory, taking down and putting up
aisles, working on the register, answering calls. I also learned how to work to do every product we had in store in the photo department, as well as what we could send in for customers. I helped customers make wedding invitations, scan in old photos to share with family, turn old vhs films into dvds. I was in charge of taking care of the cosmetics department. That meant all product display and inventory control on 4 aisles and the whole cosmetics wall was my responsibility. We got truck once to twice a week depending on the time of year, and I was always on the team to onload the truck, and then stock the items. I helped often with counting registers and doing paperwork in the office.
