Youth Baseball Coach

JCYB(2002-14/Bluegrass Bulls/KBA Prime2020-22)
Nicholasville, KY
04.2002 - Current

More coaching information and background(maybe to much but since there is not another space I wanted to be forthright)

I grew up in Jessamine county, attended Jessamine county high school and played baseball here. I decided to return here after serving in the United States Air Force. I have traveled extensively including 49 states and multiple countries but my heart was always in Jessamine county. My father had a business here as I do now, we have a large family farm, my children graduated from East Jessamine in 12 and 14, my daughter now has a nursing degree and my son a chemical engineering degree and my wife just retired from teaching at West Jessamine Middle School.

I coached youth baseball(ages 7 through 17 but mainly 11-12(just enjoyed that age best) for over well over a decade to become a better coach and have better understand the youth people I was coaching.
We won multiple championships at JCYB and coached multiple allstar teams. Not that any of that particularly matter but wanted to give a little insight. I still have close contact with many of many former players from JCYB and EJHS. Two have actually coached summer baseball with me and coach(ed) college baseball. one is coaching college now and the other will being helping me coach my 17U summer showcase baseball team for college recruiting purposes. I coach high school players from all over norther, central and southeastern Kentucky.
I also meet and coached young player in baseball, Reese Kemp, with cystic fibrosis who went on to played basketball at West Jessamine. He was struggled greatly with his health. He lost his father at a vey young age and we bonded because I treated him exactly like to other young players. He now tells people I am essentially his dad and he is a third child and a second son to me. It's the greatest gift baseball has ever given me and the reason we all should be coaching.
His mom is now one of my dearest friends and I coached his brother Kennon Kemp at East which brought it all full circle.

I spent several years on the Board of Directors at JCYB including three years as VP of Babe Ruth(13-17) for JCYB and four years as vice president of JCYB a league of 600+ players plus their families. Hands on operations included fundraising, budget, equipment and facilities maintenance, concession operation, customer service, player draft preparation and implementation, game scheduling, and much more.

Eight years coaching summer travel teams for Bluegrass Bulls(now defunct) and the last three summers coaching showcase baseball teams KBA Prime with the purpose of getting the player exposure in front of college recruiters. This summer I have a 17U teams playing regional in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

You would be hard pressed to find someone with more understanding, knowledge and experience baseball in Jessamine county. I am fully committed to the success of the county and to East Jessamine. If chosen I would remain fully committed to East Jessamine High School and East Baseball. I have lived in the county my whole life and have been coaching for my whole life to have an opportunity to head coach in this county. I have a long term plan for the program and have individuals that I would bring on that share that vision. They also share a long term vision of what is necessary to achieve that vision.

Thank you and I look forward to the opportunity to interview.
I will happily provide more referrals(work and youth baseball related) and paperwork, as required.
