- I was responsible for the reading literacy standards and writing standards for fifth grade students. This required organization and planning skills to keep data for fifth grade students organized.
- Classroom management was an important part of my role to ensure an environment where all students could learn.
- In total, there were anywhere from 63 to 65 students in the fifth grade. Class sizes ranged from 20 to 23. We had a total of 3 periods that rotated through and then a home room period.
- I facilitated a readers theatre where all fifth grade periods presented the Night Before Christmas to the younger grades. This required organization and planning for everything to go smoothly.
- Along with my classroom duties, I tutored after school from January to late April. I attended several sporting events for students to show support outside of the classroom.
- In addition to required professional development, I also attended an All Things ELA course to better hone my ELA teaching skills.
