- Communicate clearly and compassionately, often with the help of interpreters or multilingual materials
- Provide orientation for residents about housing rules, safety, and local resources
3. Facility Maintenance and Safety
- Ensure facilities are clean, functional, and safe
- Coordinate timely repairs and upkeep, often on tight timelines
- Conduct regular inspections of shared and private spaces
4. Resident Relations
- Act as a daily point of contact for housing concerns or emergencies
- Help mediate and resolve issues between residents when needed
- Support residents in understanding rental responsibilities (e.g., utilities, housekeeping, shared spaces)
5. Collaboration with Case Workers and Agencies
- Work closely with social workers, case managers, and volunteers
- Coordinate logistics around arrivals and departures
- Share updates or concerns about residents that may affect their housing stability
6. Administrative and Legal Duties
- Keep records of occupancy, agreements, incidents, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with housing laws and grant requirements
- Assist in reporting to government or partner organizations when needed
7. Community Integration
- Help foster a sense of community and belonging among residents
- Assist in organizing housing-related workshops (e.g., “Living in an Apartment 101”)
- Support residents in transitioning to independent housing when ready
