Skills

all my life growing up I learned that responsibility creates struggle, struggle creates strength, and strength creates structure From the early age of 9, I was always a smart kid growing up, learning that there was no leadership Due to that, there was no structure, and with no structure as kids, we did what? reckless stuff right? When you're bored or outside every day as a kid, what do you do? You Get in trouble From my childhood, my father was never in my life But I grew up around older folks such as what we call the old heads like big cousins and big uncles

by always listening and taking what I could learn from them It very much gave me the wisdom I needed at a young age So addition to that I had to separate myself from a typical crowd of friends that I had a lot in common with because I knew what to do and what not to do by not messing my life up and In which case they did But It wasn't until I started seeing why this was the case and that being no fathers, no structure, a lack of respect for education, and behavioral issues I could go on and on and on

One day I asked myself if I’m not going to end up like that or if im in a state of mind to where I could think for myself or I could guide my life the way I wanted to I wanted to be dedicated and take the responsibility of influencing others and showing them some direction Showing them that can choose to be who they are, Showing them that they can live their life the way they want to, and a part of that responsibility created struggle So now fast forward to high school, at that point in my life, I decided to take responsibility for what I wanted to stand for which was by serving an example of a role model but a part of that struggle was fighting an older version of myself that loved distraction and loved having fun in terms of kicking back and hanging around

once I got past that struggle I began to be able to easily say no, I’m not going to that movie, no, I'm not going to that party, no, we not hanging out after school All those nos developed from struggle, to strength Not only I was able to influence students at my old school, I am still to this very day influencing people on YouTube I just started not too long ago and I am showing young men how to make the right decisions with their lives While also building structure for kids who didn’t have a father like me, especially for the kids who are growing up in an unstable, abusive household I am now 20 years old, a young black man in my second year in college, a sophomore with a 30 GPA All this accomplished was that responsibility creates struggle, struggle creates strength, and strength creates structure
