The Facility Revenue Technician (FRT) is responsible for providing face-to-face and telephonic customer service to Veterans and their family members for the VAMC to aid in resolution of billing issues. The FRTs are the liaisons between the CPAC and the facility and assist with the collection of eligibility, insurance, scheduling, and other administrative information as it pertains to a Veteran's visit This information is used for billing, eligibility, Release of Information and other critical functions at the facility level that support the revenue process. When not assisting customers either in person or by phone, facility revenue staff focuses on specific facility-level procedures to support the collection of revenue.
FRTs are responsible for gathering and preparing spreadsheets and reports used for bill preparation from the facility level workload. They send these reports to the Health Information Management System (HIMS) Coding department, the CPAC RUR and Billing sections for further actions concerning the revenue process. These spreadsheets and other reports include but not limited to: Outpatient, Inpatient, Non-VA Medical Care Claims, Legal, non-Federal W/C and Tort Feasor claims, when required by the Third Party Payer - Repetitive Services, and Prosthetics encounters.
