Morgan Simone Heard

Rising Sophomore Economics major at Spelman College on the Pre-Law track with a strong commitment to community service and engagement. Eager to gain hands-on experience in law, policy, or economics while making a positive impact through leadership.

• A part of Alpha Lambda Delta at Spelman College, a national honor society that recognizes first-year college students for academic excellence

• Meals on Wheels, Collaborated with staff and other volunteers to package food in order to make lunches for underserved communities.
• Columbia Baptist Fellowship Church, Worked with the church to organize and set up food to be delivered to selected families.
• Roots Farm, Frequently volunteer at McDonogh Schools' farm and help plant seeds, pull dead plants, and garden.
• At Destined for Greatness Outreach Youth Center I take on two roles; One as a rising queen for the youth, and one as a mentor and tutor at a local elementary school. I build strong relationships with these kids and serving the community. We set up events like feeding the homeless, or fun interactive events for the younger kids.

• I am a Rising Queen for Destined for Greatness Outreach Youth Center. I meet with a younger group of girls and boys once a week to discuss various topics and stay in touch with them. We go over etiquette, future goals/aspirations, and other valuable topics. I enjoy being a mentor for them and grateful for this position.
• Track & Field Indoor/Outdoor Captain, 2023-2025, Hurdle captain for McDonogh's team for four seasons, responsible for warming up and stretching the team, leading hurdle drills and workouts.
• Cheerleading Captain, 2023, Warmed up the team daily, called all sideline cheers, memorized and taught cheers and halftime performances, led the school pep rally.
• Senior Leader for Dance Concert, 2024, Choreographed and taught a piece for the concert, warmed up dancers before practices and performances, answered questions from underclassmen.
• Campaign Manager for Student Class Council Elections, Coordinated outreach initiatives, including social media promotion, peer engagement, and campus visibility efforts
