Summary

As a Senior Social Worker in the Investigations Unit I have five plus years experience conducting investigation regarding allegations of child abuse or neglect. I have experience conducting interviews, writing Court reports, and training new investigators. I have developed a working relationship with law enforcement agencies, including Butte County Sheriff's Department, Oroville Police Department, and the District Attorney's Office. I continue to provide guidance and support to fellow social workers and work closely with supervisors to address the needs of staff.

November 9, 2015 through June 2017, I performed ongoing case management services.


As an Investigating Social Worker my duties were as follows;

  • To make in-person investigations to assess allegations of child abuse and/or neglect and to provide services to families congruent with the assessment, as required by Sections 16504 and 202(a)(b) of the Welfare and Institutions Code.
  • When a child is detained, to provide the necessary case management and court related duties for the families from detention to disposition.
  • Investigate assigned referrals of child abuse and/or neglect. Work with Law Enforcement to keep the peace and detain children at risk.
  • Interview the clients/informants/collaterals
  • If the child(ren) are detained to notice parent of the Detention Hearing,
  • Inquire about ICWA, and make necessary referrals for services.
  • To author the Detention Report, or Request for Protective Custody warrant, to prepare a Jurisdiction report if contested. To assist/cosign the Dispositional Report.
  • Find, arrange, and maintain placement.
  • Initiate services and visitation for family, as well as obtain any release’s necessary.
  • Document contacts in CWS, attend Court Hearings, testify as necessary, and complete necessary training.
