My name is Neil Smith, a College graduate who is looking to work as a paraprofessional at the high school level, and hoping to become a fully fledged high school teacher in the future. I enjoy working with students who struggle to grasp the material so that I may help them better understand it in a way that suits their specific learning needs. I understand that every student has individual learning needs, and I always try my best to get them the assistance they need, through both hands on and explanatory methods. I have previously student-taught in a fourth grade classroom for my practicum, as well as third grade classrooms to help a family friend over the summer. While I can teach most subjects, my skillset and knowledge leans harder towards history, which is a subject that I have always enjoyed. Should you choose to accept me, I look forward to working with students in need.
I would assist the full time custodians with their task cleaning the rooms within the school. I would wash desks, pick up heavy objects and move them out of the rooms so that they could wax the floors. I would also assist with bringing books to classrooms for the school year, making sure that grade specific books arrived where they were supposed to.
