• 2026 Workplace Stress: Building Resilience and coping. Presented to the 65 members of NC DPS Central HR team. The 60 minute presentation outlined ways to identify stress, principles of stress first aid, resilience, and coping, as well as taught techniques to combat stress and improve mindfulness and resilience.
• 2026 Bouncing Back: Practical Tools for resetting after tough calls. Presented with a colleague to a group of EMS responders at the 2026 EMS Expo in Wake Forest, NC. The 60 minute presentation outlined ways to identify stress, principles of stress first aid, resilience, and coping, as well as taught techniques to combat stress and improve mindfulness and resilience.
• 2026 On-The-Job Stress and Coping Strategies. Presented to the Wake, Johnston, and Harnette County's CIT training course as part of the curriculum for certification. The 60 minute presentation outlined ways stress impacts the body, mind, and behavior of first responders. Also, the presentation discussed principles of stress first aid, resilience, and coping, as well as taught techniques to combat stress and improve coping and resilience on the job and at home.
• 2022 Prolonged Exposure Therapy Case Presentation Presentation given to the 2021-2022- cohort of residents and attendings of the academic family medicine clinic of Ventura County Medical Center. Presentation included background, course of treatment, and outcome assessment of a case of complex combat PTSD in an OIF/OEF veteran. Early sessions included creation of exposure hierarchy and discussions around in vivo exposures. Subsequent sessions involved introduction of subjective units of distress scale (SUDS), hierarchy of imaginal exposures, and real time rating of SUDS during exposure, as well as pre and post exposure SUDS ratings.
• 2021 Values Exploration Using the Miller Card Sort Task and Behavioral Activation Presentation given to the 2020-2021 training cohort of Tarzana Treatment Center for both the Adult (Central) and Child & Adolescent programs. Consisting of an overview of the BA inspired principles of values exploration as a clinical intervention.
• 2020 Basics of Mindfulness from a DBT Perspective Presentation given to the 2020-2021 training cohort of Tarzana Treatment Center for both the Adult (Central) and Child & Adolescent programs. Consisting of an overview of the research in support of both mindfulness as an effective intervention and DBT as an effective therapy, background in the philosophy dialectics and the origins of DBT, and the mechanisms of change in mindfulness-based interventions. The presentation concluded with a practical application portion in which the cohort was led in several mindfulness practices followed by a question-and-answer session.
