As front desk, I spend most of my time organizing paperwork and assisting customers and salesmen during transactions. I also keep record of paperwork and payment information in preparation for the end of the year inventory.

I had the opportunity to be a part of the 2024 Northrop Grumman Internship Program. As an civil engineering intern, I learned what it meant to be a part of something bigger than myself and how to be a part of a team. I was given tasks by my group such as reading source material, reporting on different details related to read source material, attending meetings, and replying to emails. I really enjoyed my time.

Acute Engineering Intern

Acute Engineering is an amazing structural engineering firm that works with architects, home builders, and contractors to create houses in Utah. I was lucky enough to be hired by Acute as an intern. As an intern, I was trained for a period of time before I was given minor tasks such as using Acute's engineering system to determine beam stability, whether a hole in a specific location would be safe, and creating engineering drawings to give clear instruction to the customer. This was a challenging internship and was the first job where I experienced engineering in the working field.


Tasks:

  • Transfer information from plans into an engineering computation system
  • Create engineering drawings from scratch using regulations and formatting
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with teammates on jobs
