AS a Youth services specialist 1 we provided direct care supervision, and mentorship to adjudicated youth in a secured facilities, focusing on safety, behavior management, skill building through group facilitation.

As a juvenile correctional officer I supervised and managed young offenders in a detention center, focusing on safety, security and rehabilitation by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, and providing support and guidance to help youth change their behaviors and reintegrate into society. I was also a member of the special tactics and response team that was often deployed during riot or escape situations. Was trained in physical management, riot shields, flash bangs, smoke grenades, chemical agent grenade launchers, O.C. Spray and mechanical restraints.
