I was hired as an intern investment accountant, my role was to load the daily custodial transactions for 30 investment accounts into a family office accounting software. Once loaded, I had to review and post the accounting transactions and stock prices. At each month end I had to reconcile the accounting positions, value, and cost back to the month end custodial data. The volume of transactions during the period of my internship was very high as it was during a period of market volatility, including the Ukraine war, fear of inflation and interest rate adjustments. On average during this period I processed over 1000 transactions monthly on 30 investments and the average value of the accounts was 100 million dollars.
