I worked the over night shift which was scheduled from 7pm-7am. During this shift we assisted with dinner meal time along with changing bedding if needed and also changing residents for bed time. We had some nonverbal residents that needed extra care or required a 2 person assist. We all worked as a team to make those residents that needed extra care comfortable for bed. Through out the night it consisted of doing laundry for the week for the residents that are scheduled along with doing 2 hour room checks. In that time that we do room checks we check residents for accidents or bathroom breaks.

My responsibilities consisted of waking up residents in the morning and providing showers for those who were scheduled to take a shower that morning. Along with assisting with showers other responsibilities were dressing residents and escorting to the dining room for breakfast.

Through out the day responsibilities consisted of escorting to and from the day rooms and activities along with hourly bathroom breaks. There was a down time area for the PCA's to do pampering such as nail trimming and nail painting.
