• Conduct asset and circuit inspections of transmission and distribution utilities across SCE’s service territory which lead to reduced failure rates, increased safety, reduced costs and extended asset life.
• Inspect, identify and evaluate overhead equipment for potential points of failure as part of SCE’s mitigation plan to reduce public safety hazards caused by utility infrastructure.
• Annually conducted over 1000 pole inspections with zero recordable safety incidents through the implementation of scalable and repeatable safety procedures.

Overhead Detail Inspection responsible for identifying:

• G.O-95 infractions, Structure & Equipment damage, Update GIS with current & accurate field information, Public level safety risks (priority 3,2,1). Completing & creating repair notifications, Properly photographing structures to show detail, etc.

Pole loading- RFA:

• Locate assets in rural, urban and residential areas while holding the company to its highest standards with homeowners and the public
• Identify pole tags, size, weight, type, class, GLC.
• Identify attachments on utility poles including conductors, conductor splices, wire sizes, equipment,anchor/downguy info, spanguys, communication lines, etc.
• Calculating measurements including heights, distances, angles, and circumferences.

TLM/ Redline:

• Create redline designs and prepare work order maps.
• Conduct site surveys
• Input pole loading information based on current field conditions.
• Identify specific wires, fuses and circuit breaks.
• Identify wire sizes and calculate distances to poles, houses and businesses for transformer circuits.
• Gain access to utility meters and take necessary photos.

Annual Grid Patrol :

• Patrol overhead transmission and distribution power grids throughout SCE’s service territory
• Consists of SCE grid patrol using inspect app while leaving a GPS footprint in search of stand by and priority 1 situations
• Increase efficiency in field visits.
• Kept detailed records of field measurements and data.
• Identified potential problems and prevented equipment failure through performing regular equipment inspections.

Third party administration/ Final inspection- responsible for:

• Identify communication wire sizes, owner, measure comm heights with hastings stick and anchor/ downguy info.
