*Responsible for observing and assisting mental health patients admitted to adult inpatient psychiatry and performing specified care activities to meet the personal, physical, and emotional needs of each patient.

*Assist patients with meals, conduct 15 minute safety checks, provide assistance with ADL's as needed, provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients throughout each shift, take vital signs and blood sugars, document ADL's and vital signs.

*Lead group activities that promote patient interaction and socialization.

*Functioned as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, role modeling to patients on different inpatient psychiatric units (child: 5-11; adolescent: 12-17; adult: 18-geriatric)

*Responsible for leading group activities, providing support and guidance to other mental health techs, maintaining a therapeutic and organized schedule for patients, responding to and managing crisis situations in safe and therapeutic manner, participating in weekly leadership meetings to discuss potential problems and to work on improvement projects.

*Conducted 15 minute safety rounds, took vital signs and blood sugars.

*Worked with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop and provide high quality program activities for children and adolescents age ranges from 5-17 on an inpatient psychiatry unit.

* Provided a safe, therapeutic environment through group activities and structure as well as continuous monitoring, observation, and therapeutic communication.

*Responsible for running group activities, having a patient assignment and provided documentation on daily progress for each individual patient while communicating any problems or issues to the charge nurse and psychiatrist.

* Responsible for supervising local undergraduate psychology students and conducting interviews and evaluations.
