Work History

Logistics Shipping Supervisor

Huntsman Corporation/Rubicon Plant
  • My role focuses on managing and facilitating all shipping functions of package warehouses, bulk terminals, and carriers for Americas and Canada, as well as those functions Transloading sites
  • Responsible for the management and development of four onsite coordinators, 2 rail contractors, and a sample coordinator as well as up to 10 off site contract coordinators
  • Key user in SAP and Transplace TMS system
  • Implementation and determination of cost savings projects
  • Act as the liaison between Huntsman business partners, customers, and employees and communicating pertinent information accurately and expeditiously to operate the department efficiently and effectively
  • Conduct carrier reviews with all package and bulk carriers
  • Supervise all facets if package, bulk, and rail shipments as well as the coordinators at the Geismar facility as well as the Kinder Morgan Geismar Logistics Terminal
  • Complete NPI for new product introduction
  • Key user for TMS and Macropoint
  • Monitor and manage annual budget for Logistics freight as well as act as key decision maker in RFP.

Transportation Supervisor

Occidental Chemical Corporation - Geismar, LA & Decatur, AL
  • My role focuses on managing and maintaining the fleet of vehicles within the business to ensure they are used in accordance with the company's policies and procedures
  • Key to the role is maintaining a strong work ethic and act with a sense of urgency and purpose, balanced with strategic and day-to-day operational intent
  • Some of my duties include managing an average of 26 staff including drivers, dispatcher and mechanic, keeping DOT training up to date, and ensuring the overall compliance to HES&S policies and procedures
  • Supervising Transport Drivers and setting schedules
  • Ensuring all transport deliveries and pick-ups are completed in a timely manner and that the department operates efficiently
  • Managing employee relations issues including interviewing, hiring, counselling, and documentation for Transport Drivers
  • Supervising the pick-up, transport and delivery of all products and materials and ensuring they are all safely and properly loaded onto vehicles and delivered in a safe and timely manner
  • Responsible for vehicle maintenance including scheduling regular maintenance and making sure vehicles are regularly disinfected and kept sanitary
  • Ensuring the use of correct product handling techniques for the movement of all hazardous products
  • Providing assistance to other departments as needed in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner
  • Preparing of associated paperwork of all work done.

Terminal Manager

Groendyke Transport - Port Allen
  • My role focused on ensuring the safe and compliant management of all terminal activities while meeting defined company strategic objectives
  • Key to the roll was practicing effective communication and organizational skills
  • Some of my duties included managing all terminal personnel and functions, leading Safety Committees and group safety meetings, conducting mission planning and debriefing exercises with key staff members
  • Also responsible for cost control and managing Profit and Loss statements for the terminal.

Assistant Terminal Manager

Groendyke Transport - Port Allen, LA
  • My role focused on ensuring the safe work environment for all of the terminal employees with a goal of obtaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction
  • Key to the role was maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and practicing good communication skills
  • Some of my duties included coordinating Logistics with Central Dispatch, Driver relations and Safety Training, developing processes and controls to monitor the safe and efficient operation of the Terminal and its resources, assisting with monthly analysis and reporting and ensuring applicable HSE standards are always known and followed.

Dispatcher

Groendyke Transport - Port Allen, LA
  • My role focused on maintaining the daily schedules and dispatch of services
  • Key to the role was maintaining a flexible approach and being detailed oriented
  • Some of my duties included responsible for the daily dispatch of 30 drivers, updating data entry in TMW dispatch system and liaising with department managers, employees and company customers, including keeping customers appraised as to company schedule and requested lead-times.

Assistant Terminal Manager

Andrews Transport - Port Allen, LA
  • My role focused on supporting and assisting the Terminal Manager in the areas off all operations, maintenance, repair, personnel and safety
  • Key to the role was practicing exemplary leadership and communication skills
  • Some of my duties included managing the oversight of all terminal functions of maintaining operational integrity and reliability of the facility, coordinating activities and the operational interfaces between the customer and dispatch services and ensuring that the highest safety standards are implemented and maintained for all personnel.

Senior Dispatcher

Andrews Transport - Port Allen, LA
  • My role focused on ensuring that the dispatch department maintains effective daily communication with drivers
  • Key to the role was practicing reliability and maintaining a strong commitment towards teamwork
  • Some of my duties included coordinating the dispatch for 45 drivers, their equipment and the servicing of all chemical, and light oil for customers, demonstrating effective use of scheduling software, two-way radio communication, telephone and data analysis and coordinating with internal staff on meeting regulatory requirements, any statutory requirements and other goals and objectives needed to operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
