Demonstrated versatility in effectively carrying out the responsibilities of a specimen processor, data entry/imaging clerk, and aliquoter.
Maintained a high productivity rate by processing an average of 1,800 samples per month in my position as a specimen processor
Conducted daily data entry tasks by verifying and matching patient and test information on requisitions, ensuring accuracy and quality control while averaging around 900 cases monthly.
Aliquoted on average approximately 150+ specimens daily which included stool splits, urine pour offs, blood pour offs for QuantiFERON ktis, Sodium Citrate pour offs for PT/PTT and D-Dimer testing, sputum. finger/toe nail splits, bodily fluid pour offs such as synovial and spinal fluids.
Maintained a monthly average total productivity rate of 2,500 cases and consistently achieved an error rate under the company benchmark of 0.5%.
Trained new personnel on proper specimen preparation techniques and documentation requirements.
Operated laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pipettes, and slides.
Utilized personal protective equipmen while handling biohazardous material safely and securely at all times and following HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
Adhered to all department policies and procedures related to specimen processing.
Responded promptly to requests from clinicians and phlebotomist's regarding specimen collection instructions or other inquiries relating to the lab's services as needed.
Trained in handling microbiology specimens, COVID swabs, pathology and cytology specimens, ambient and refrigerated specimens, time sensitive and stat specimens, breath bags,and pregnancy DNA kits.
Maintained appliance temperature/safety logs.
