Animal shelter volunteer
I love caring for the animals in the shelter. The adjustment to shelter life is very stressful for the animals and sometimes volunteering shifts are spent feeding them treats and cuddling the animals. The shelter is very loud and busy, I do my best to make the animals comfortable. I also observe for any signs of illness or special needs that the animals may need.
Community Clean-Up Volunteer
For 5+ years I have spent the weekends attending clean-ups. A small group will meet up and we will assign specific streets, hand out tools (trash bags and trash pinchers) and of course safety attire (reflective vest over bright colored shirt). I have always liked keeping the community clean and finding a community within this group that wants to do good in their free time.
