During desert shield, our vessel USS Brewton made the first stop of an Iranian tanker trying to bust the blockade. The vessel was carrying contraband not authorized. Before the operation began, the helicopter experience a triple tachometer failure. We shut down the helicopter then I climbed up and under the engine canopy and secured the loosely set tachometer successfully, allowing the helicopter to give cover during the ongoing search for the items.
