Affiliations

  • Greatly Involved with STEM related activities, I was involved in FIRST robotics throughout 8th-12th grade. I spent 8th and 9th grade in FIRST Tech Challenge in which I worked with my team in designing in CAD and building subsystems through a pods system which we learned through real engineering companies. In 10-12th grade I participated in First Robotics Competition, on this team there was a more established system and a much larger amount of people participating. I learned a great deal about the engineering process and constant reiteration. More importantly, I learned how to communicate with a large team.
In my first year I learned how to get my voice out as a member and make meaningful changes and ideas for our robot. Later in my last two years I served as a Co-mechanical lead and practiced making sure everyone has their voice heard and making sure work was completed efficiently through set systems and calendars.

I also participate in our schools band program in which I played a strong leadership role throughout all my years in high school as first chair trombone and in senior year as our schools drum major. As first chair I learned and practiced making my section meet up with clear goals and practicing on them through proper techniques. As drum major I was in a position to lead a very large group (around 200 students) and i learned how to share information to a large amount of people so no student doesn't know what their job is. I learned how to regulate a large group and collect students in large and small group meetings.

Outside of school I have a great passion in motorcycles and throughout my junior and senior year I bought an old non-running TS185 and have been restoring it to better and better condition. In this process I learned how to research and use resources to help succeed with my tasks.
