ACLS/BLS protocol

COVID-19 patient care:

Ensuring all patients, staff, and visitors are screened for symptoms of COVID-19;

placed all in-patients with symptoms in airborne isolation room; Correct donning and doffing N95 respirators, facemask, gowns etc.

Monitoring trachs and ventilators

Maintaining and initiating IVs, feeding tubes, catheters, and oxygen tanks

Communicating with patients and doctors

Providing family support

Administering medications

Running tests and assessments

Planning and coordinating discharges

Admitting new patients

Serve as advocate for patient and/or family members regarding decisions affecting the care plan

Wound care and skin care protocols

Ostomy care

Identify the educational needs of the patient and family members and provide the necessary education to meet those needs

Post of care of patient

Assess and evaluate patient’s response to care plan and prioritize and implement appropriate changes to plan

Collaborate, assess and coordinate discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other health care team members on a timely basis

Always show respect and awareness for the patient and family members as individuals and as a family unit

Provide direct supervision and assistance in evaluation of staff performance

Post-Operative Duties

Assess patients’ condition after a surgery has been performed

Ensure that all vitals are within normal range

Log all findings in patients’ files

Answer patients’ questions and ensure that they are kept comfortable

Make sure that all relevant IVs are in check

Develop individualized care plans based on each individual patient’s condition

Ensure that the all nursing activities are carried out in accordance to individual patient care plan

Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor

Initiate patient education programs to ensure that both patients and families are educated on procedures and medications

Determine when patients are ready to be moved to their rooms

Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies

Record sedation levels and body temperature

Manage blood and fluid transfusions and draw specimens
